Perfect System For Your Home
The picture below shows an optimum water purification system for the homes in Austin, Round Rock, Pflugerville, Georgetown, Kyle, Buda, Dripping Springs and surrounding communities that have water from a water supply company (were you pay a monthly bill). It is a "point of entry" system, treating your water as it enters your home.
Homeowners who are drawing their water from a well on their property will use a different system.
Look at the picture below.
The short wide tank on the right is the brine (salt) tank. It will hold approximately 200 lbs. of salt or potassium (5 bags). Check it once a month to see if you need to add. That can be done by lifting the top off and looking inside.
The tall tank in the middle is your whole house carbon filtration. Basically, it does the same thing a good Brita filter will do filtering your kitchen faucet water, except this is loaded with 500 times more carbon. This tank will remove disinfectants, bad taste and oder and many contaminants that are less than "maximium contaminant level" (MCL) that are not required to be removed by your water supplier.
The tall tank on the left is the water softener. It has a Clack WS-1 valve on top. In our opinion, it is the best residential water softener on the market. If there were a better unit, we'd be selling that instead. This unit is a premium high flow unit (1" valve, same size as your waterline from the street) with a micro-processor that registers all the water you use and only cleans itself (regenerate) when needed. It rarely malfunctions or breaks. If it does, it is easy to fix.
